What’s New with PRINCE2? Q and A with a Product Manager

Q1: Can you give us an idea of ​​what your core responsibility as a product manager with simplilearn? What is your day you day?

 

A1: As a product manager, my extensive responsibility includes imagining products that provide great learning experience for students and ensure final products in line with this vision.

In short, my core responsibility is to create world-class products that can be scaled at all personas targets. That is said, my responsibility also includes making products that increase income for the entire category and who sign in various industrial domains.

 

I consider myself as an internal subject matter expert so I can fill the gap wherever it is needed and manages risk easily because my deep understanding of the product.

 

I am responsible for the launch of any new product and ensuring that all product commencement tools are available during shipping. My job is not only working with different teams to ensure that new products were successfully launched but to ensure that it got a large reception from the audience too.

 

My daily responsibilities include coordination with shipping, learning management, technology, support, customer, business, and financial teams to ensure a smooth experience for students.

 

Influencer is an important part of this trip, I work with them to onboard and introduce them to new projects, and make them stay involved.

 

I need to follow and learn industry trends, work, and technology and also keep the competitor’s progress tab, which helps me launch a new product line and estimate their income potential. Based on this information, I prioritize products and tasks, and in this process, complete the product road map.

Q2: How do you build your skills in project management?

 

A2: I have more than 3 years of project management experience in various domains such as e-learning, learning management solutions, game solutions and more. I graduated from marketing and communication from Lancaster University and held a leadership module from Copenhagen Business School. I am a VP of events and democracy in my college and this is my first foray into the role of people’s management.

 

I was assigned by arranging various events and I realized that I had talent for such a role. The ownership sensation encouraged me to take the role of project management, once I started my professional journey.

 

Q3: What advice would you give to someone who consider career in project management?

 

A3: The essence of project management works well with people. The secret lies in understanding the fact that all individuals have different takeaways from the project. Grasping this difference and approaching the project and tasks while respecting this difference is what the project manager needs to be done. He must also be very good at coordination and multi-tasking so that everyone involved in the project can rely on it for direction.

Q4: What are some of the main qualities that must be brought by the project manager to their team? How does Prince2 certification strengthen or add to those qualities?

This is fully in line with the responsibility of the project manager and guiding it on its way, which began by understanding business requirements and ensuring these requirements are met.
